CVCA held a seminar on Impact of U.S. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act ("FATCA") on PE/VCs on 31st July in Shanghai. Professionals from KPCB, Lightspeed China Partners, Lunar Capital, Qiming Venture Partners, SIG, SVB Capital, Jiuzhou Venture, New Margin, and Deloitte jointed the seminar.

Patrick Yip, International Tax Partner of Deloitte, gave a recap on the purpose, requirements, and target subjects of FATCA, obligation of Foreign Financial Institution, Expanded Affiliated Group, Inter-Governmental Agreement’s interaction with FATCA rules. He summarized the main points of FATCA and the actions need to be taken by funds & asset managers. His presentation was followed by the highly interactive Q & A session.
